PESTLE & MORTAR 
PESTLE analysis is a well-regarded and often practiced method
to look at the forces that might be affecting a company’s performance and one I
have recently been advising on with an SME.
You take your current business situation and ponder what POLITICAL,
ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, TECHNOLOGY, LEGAL and ENVIRONMENTAL forces are accelerating
and inhibiting growth. From that you develop a plan to maximise your
opportunity for success.
But as ever (or it is with me anyway), if someone says
PESTLE I immediately think MORTAR and the implementation of a plan after PESTLE
analysis now based on MORTAR
MOTIVATION, ORGANISATION, RIGOUR, TACTICS, ACTIVITY, RESULTS
Perhaps that’s it or perhaps it should be BRICKS and MORTAR
or SWOT or SMART or 5Y…………. but in all cases it is efficient activity after the
analysis that brings results.
